Share Grant Criteria
Share uses no standard application form. Funds are distributed once a year. Organizations wishing to apply should submit a letter of request by July 1st. Grant recipients will be notified by October 1st. The application letter should be no more than three pages and should include the following information:
- A summary statement.
- A brief history of the organization and its accomplishments.
- The objectives and duration of the program to be funded, and whom it will benefit.
- Definition and documentation of the opportunity need or issue being addressed.
- The amount of funding sought, and how it relates to the total need.
- A realistic line-item estimate of project cost and explanation of how the requested grant amount will be used. It is advantageous to include a description of how lesser amounts, if granted, can be helpful. Funding is based on availability and will be limited to no more than $15,000.00.
- The proposed method to evaluate the programs success.
The organization should also furnish:
- A copy of the IRS letter indicating the 501C3 (or nonprofit state agency) status and a statement demonstrating that such status has not been recently revoked.
- A list of current board members and their professional affiliations.
- A list of current sources of support and the amount derived from each.Audited financial from previous year.
- Three reference letters.
Share will only fund projects that involve alcohol and drug prevention/intervention and/or education. Grant requests are encouraged in the following categories:
- Alcohol and Drug Treatment opportunities for adults and youth.
- Innovative alcohol and drug prevention programs.
- Alcohol and drug halfway houses and transitional living programs.
- Programs providing services to family members affected by addiction.
- Creative, galvanizing awareness programs.
Limited funds are available. Share is less likely to support:
- Individuals.
- Fund-raising events.
- Annual campaigns.
- Debt retirement or re-structuring.
All funding decisions are made by the Share Board of Directors.
